About Ditching Plastic

We're on a mission to make plastic-free alternatives accessible and affordable for every business through the power of collective purchasing.

Our Mission

Ditching Plastic was founded on a simple belief: businesses shouldn't have to choose between sustainability and affordability. By bringing together the purchasing power of thousands of businesses, we negotiate wholesale prices on high-quality, plastic-free alternatives that would otherwise be out of reach for small and medium-sized companies.

Every co-op we facilitate, every plastic container replaced, and every business we empower brings us closer to a world where sustainable choices are the easy choices. Together, we're not just buying products – we're building a movement.

Sustainability First

Every decision we make prioritizes environmental impact and long-term sustainability.

Community Power

We believe in the collective strength of businesses working together for change.

Open, honest communication about pricing, processes, and environmental impact.

How It Started

Ditching Plastic began in 2023 when a group of restaurant owners realized they were all struggling with the same problem: they wanted to switch to sustainable packaging, but the minimum order quantities and high prices made it impossible.

What started as a WhatsApp group coordinating bulk orders has grown into a platform serving thousands of businesses across the country. We've negotiated with suppliers, vetted products for quality and sustainability, and built a community of forward-thinking businesses committed to change.

Today, we're proud to be the leading co-op purchasing platform for plastic-free alternatives, but we're just getting started. Our vision is a world where every business, regardless of size, can afford to make sustainable choices.
